Challenge
The primary challenge was to develop a unified software solution that enables both doctors and specialists to refer patients, communicate, and share vital information effectively. Although the ReferralMD team initially attempted to build this system internally, the results fell short of their goals. The original design was overly complex, featuring too many screens that were hard to navigate without training. Furthermore, the existing referral process for many providers relied on a fragmented array of systems, databases, and outdated technologies.
Solution
Our innovative solution features a streamlined workflow and a centralised dashboard, enabling specialists to receive electronic referrals, including those initially sent via fax. By providing essential patient data before appointments, we enhance specialists' preparation and effectiveness. Additionally, our system includes a real-time chat feature and ensures HIPAA-compliant patient data sharing.With approximately 60% of referrals going unseen for various reasons, our solution empowers ReferralMD to tackle this challenge directly, improving the referral process within the medical community.
